Hope that clears that up

Might not FEEL much faster in gear, but will hang onto each gear for longer and be quicker in reality.

If you both had similar torque, but he is in a gear lower at a given speed, he is going to leave you standing.

with correct use of gears its BHP and NOT torque that determines the acceleration of a car.
HEY!!!
That last statement was mine
Couldent be more correct tho

This a great thread getting nowhere, lots of talking. Torque makes your car quick, No !! Power makes the car quick. Well lads its Datron that makes mine quick, cos I dont have a Graph to talk or crow about.
My new engine will be Dynoed but I would certainly not Put the Graph on here, will take car to Woodbridge run 215 & thats my figures proved. EASY!!

You're forgetting that just like there are various versions of a T34, the same is with most turbos . It actually made 666bhp with race fuel . But as has been said, once in the car, you need to subtract around 30bhp for when all the ancilliaries are bolted on (alternator, water pump, power-steering etc ).

will it run the same AFR in the car?

only i noticed on doug stirlings dyno print from harveys it was at 12.4-12.6 under full load, and i dont believe for one second it was anywhere near that when in the car, i bet it was at least half a point richer, probably more.

Is it for this reason, that the AFR in this printout is zero, so that no one can see its not really running what it will be when its installed, or is that part of the machine just broken at the moment?

Chip,
It has been tested flat out at Brunters and no fuel needed to be added or removed . However, the gearing plays a big part in this, it is on 1:1 final drive, so 175mph is all that it has (at 8500rpm).

I can't remember what the AFR was off the top of my head, but I understand it was still in the 12s .

Thats cool then mike.

So how come no AFR is on the graph, is that you/harvey being secretive for some reason, or is it an equipment fault?

In the 12s presumalbey means that its going to lose a LOT of the power on normal fuel, as you will have to richen it up as well as take timing out.

do you have a dyno sheet on 98?

Well judging by mikes comments a minute ago about brunters, it shows on race fuel the actual values used.

it means its going to drop a LOT on normal fuel though of course.

Ah right, sorry i misunderstood.

Amazed to hear it managed to hold together for a flat out run in the 12s then.

Is that how its being left? Or is the worry that a big hill like at the ring could melt it if its left like that?

It's been det checked and held flat out at Brunters and was signed off as being safe (well, as safe as 600bhp can be in a shit-box Ford ) .

Well same statement but referring to the "in the 12s" you mentioned then

I personally would have just expected it under 12 on pump fuel when held flat out at massive boost.

Just goes to show how safe low comp can make things perhaps?

True, but even 12.0 is still leaner than i would have expected Harvey letting a customer take it away at.

Why are you trying to make my post out to be something that it is not Martin?

talking to me like I'm actually having a dig at anyone in particular or about any one thing that has been said when i clearly stated above that the reason i thought reading the whole 11 pages was because i never felt that it got to the bottom of what the whole topic turned into

Without starting anything up again, once this topic went from interesting "T66 power - super unleaded / solid lifters" to whos got the most powerfull engines whos Dyno is TUV approved Ect ect that was when i should have stop reading

Anyway my initial post saying "11 pages what a waste of time!" was my initial feeling after reading the whole thread thus the

BTW it really pisses me off when people tell me what to do

I really think you need to re read what you wrote! It comes across as having a dig! The guy got his dyno sheet reading 666hp (?) ... did you expect the thread to last forever? I'm not sure what your point is, other than using all the time

what on earth are you talking about martin?

11 Pages martin not the engine, where did i say the engine making 666 was a waste of time? are ignorant or just trying to have a pop at me?

Mike Rainbird started the thread and incase you didnt see my sig I am a customer of his and yours that is happy with his work and class mike as a friend aswell

I think TonyK knows i wasnt talking about his engine as this topic went from his dyno sheet to a Tuner vs tuner war pages ago and i know you have been posting on this thread so clearly you knew this

and for the thrid and last time just for you martin
