Jay........
The copper washer method works perfectly mate, just use enough to space it correctly so it`s tight in the sender body and still tight into the billet.....
Alternatively you can cut the quip fitting down as per dougs pic and just fit it using a doughty washer either side......Oh and make sure you use a copper washer where the billet joins the pump as i can`t see one in your pic...
I have only used my method to drop the pump slightly into the tank swirl pot and i have tested it to 5 bar for an hour with no leaks whatsoever....

viton seals are normally white or pale blue basicly a fuel retardent oring caged in a alloy washer
doughty seals go funny over time and can weep under presure although the fitting should seal on the jic cone presure wise and the seals just stop fuel leakin out the tank top
theres only one place i know that do the proper seals in jic sizes

Right managed to get some of these washers off the In Law over the weekend (He works for a tail lift company!)
I take it these are the correct washers to use for spacing the pump?!?
I think they're made of copper....... Not too sure.
Any good?????????????

I think it goes from the fuel filter to a swirl pot, from there to another pump (044) then to the fuel rail............
Something like that!!
Funny feeling its from the filter to another pump, then the swirl pot now i've written that!

Those washers look like they're made from steel Franco.
All I did was weld a boss the correct thickness onto the sender unit base then drilled it to fit the pump. Put a douty/dowty(sp) washer either side and it works a treat.

Could i just use the 3 washers supplied by Mike R, then use a group of steel washers to space as required?
Using the 3 to finish off at the join's
Ie 1 at the top of the sender, one on the underside of the sender and the other at the end of the (normal) washer grouping??

Wouldn't like to say mate, but when i got my washers from the steering rack place he had loads of different thicknesses, i really wouldn't trust a load of washers all piled on top of each other
