was on my way to work, it looked deeper than then night before but it was only once i had got 3/4 thru and it stopped i realised it was 2feet deep

lucky it was the work van not any of my cars...

jumped onto a bank. took me shoes off and waded knee deep to get tow hook on the front. collegue towed me out and another towed me home 8 miles


thought i might have fucked engine as it wouldnt start so i called the AA team

and the amount of water which came out of the intercooler and assocaited hoses was unreal. took all glow pugs out and turned over and it was like a geezer goin off so much water everywhere

but SHE RUNS, no bent conrods

loadsa water was still coming out exhaust tho lol...


Told the AA chap bout the FRST and he went on to say back in the day he had a 240bhp meastro which he won an event two years running at the pod in the FWD class

got a 13.1@106 (still a road car also , back seats etc)

then he had in 1993 a 4x4 saff which was 300bhp but could never beter 13.9 and kept breaking driveshafts


now has an evo8 330bhp but has never 1/4mile it

honestly thought i fucked the engine

its already on its 2nd and its 53 reg and only 50k ish on it

runs alrite, altho no air filter in it at the mo (its drying out)

cant believe the meastro tho 13.1 14/m with 240 ponies

on holiday in wales........friggin dad i wanted a picture me in the middle water everywhere oooooooooh no hes got to take it with the ruddy sign in AND at the wrong time!

this one is what less than a mile from the sea and a few years back a woman tryed to cross it when it was well flooded and got washed away thankfully her car got wedged at the bridge a little downsteam, theres now gates for highwaters

i remeber learning to drive on one of the practice theory tests,

what does a sign with a FORD on it mean, a village called ford, a river crossing, or a ford car factory or summin daft

MG Maestro Turbo's were the only ones that accelerated faster than they rusted! Until they overheated that is!

Had one a few years back because it was silly cheap and silly fast for the insurance cost. I used to take great amusement in wasting loads of other cars in what looked like a scrap yard shitter.

They have quite a following amongst the few serious enthusaists with some mental ones built by andy Nicholls using tomcat turbo 16v engines from other rovers.

Theres a pub on the left of that pic, We were sitting in there one day having a nice sunday pint and a guy in a freelander decided to show off in his 4x4 and drive through it, well he just made it out the other side before it cut out. He had to get out and ask a few of us from the beer garden of the pub to give him a push into the car park and await the recovery truck

theres a ford a few miles for me. whenever im on me old push bike i cant help going flat out through it!! sod going over the foot bridge!

last time i did these kids were on the foot bridge and were pissing themselves! almost put me off and into the water!
