Default lcd hd tv's

whats everyone got ?

fancy a new tv to play my 360 on and also for our front room when we come to get a house etc

seen some nice 32" ones knocking about but is that a bit small by todays standards ?

cant really justify spending a grand on a tv so what does people think ?

they are worth it mate, bought a 37" last week, and the 360 is on a different level in HD, i hadnt played mine much in 6 weeks before i got the HD, but since i got it, ive never been off the 360. the only downside is the picture on things like sky is average, but thats why there bringing out all these HD channels. but there worth buying, even if only for the 360.

Stick to 32inch unless you have a really big front room matt, otherwise it looks pikey as fook in a small one......

If ya dont want to spend too much go to asda and get a dual....they are a really good picture...

We bought a 32" one last week and it's plenty big enough and our lounge isn't that small either.

got a 42 inch phillips
the picture quality ain't all that different to the 32 somy i had when it comes to sky and the like, but picture quality when you play stuf on the ps2 is seriously worse off, burnout yesterday saw me crashing all over the place beause the resolution was piss poor

but, having seen what the hd picture quality is like, you need a hd telly for your next telly purchace, i bought my sony 32 flat screen etc 100 hz and the like for Ł1600 about 7 years ago, got the 42 hd plasma for less than Ł900

the ohter thing you won't need if you go for the plasma telly is a radiator in that room, they get bloody hot

Tell you what, I am pretty interested in that flat HD CRT screen.... I have always preferred the warmer colours and tones of CRT screens, and the response times are typically better than LCD's or plasma's aswell (CRT being virtually instant as comparred to good LCD's being 8ms or typical 16ms)

39cm is pretty damn slim for a CRT aswell!!!!

The only thing that puts me off it (which also puts me off plasma aswell) is it has a lot of glass. One thing I have LOVED about my TFT (LCD) monitor has been the incredible lack of reflection and glare from the screen due to it not having a glass screen.

Be interested tho to see if they come out with a 37" or anything bigger than 32" tho really, as ideally I want 36/37" -and hopefully a few more connections that that (ideally 2x RGB scart, componant (R, B, G) input, S-VHS, HDMi and the obligatory composite (yellow) phono input, along with a standard analogue RCA audio inputs (digital would also be a nice touch tho) and maybe even a PC (VGA) input?

I take it 100hz is the right frequency for HD applications then yeah? What I am interested to know tho is if you can select between frequencies, as other than HD-DVD sometime in the future, I am unlikely to take advantage of HD-TV (have no interest in sky or cable, and don't play games like xbox 360, etc, and unless Freeview becomes available, for free, in HD transmission, then I ain't that bothered) so you could watch digital TV in "normal" quality (like we can now) and play HD-DVD from your HD player in "HD" quality......

that samsung one isnt so good after all

been reading online people reviews with pics etc

the geometry of the screen can be very iffy and it goes all blured towards the edges of the screen due to the super slim design apparently

will get some links up so you can have a read yourselves

seems some are ok then others are garbage

put me off it TBH
