Quick Q:
Is there any difference between a standard mk1 sierra rear bumper & a cossie one? I've never looked at both together in close enough details but from the pics i've seen they look the same, are they?
Cheers.

the only difference is the top part.
on the cossie it is a soft rubber.
on the standard items they are hard plastic and unpainted.
these can be swapped round, as i did so on my car to get a mint condition uncracked, unburnt bumper with all mountings in tack.

Cheers fellas
So apart from a different material a fully painted standard bumper wouldn't look too different from a cossy one? Bare in mind it's for the car in my sig so originality isn't high up on my list
I'm fancying dumping the V8 now anyway & going Zetec so may be pestering Fudgeass in the coming weeks as I try to get all the bits I need together
Paul, I need to speak to you about the wedding plans soon so may pop down & see you
You be around tomorrow mate as the missus is out so not got anything to do?

your fucking nuts to dump an (admittidly shit) Rover V8, for a fucking Zetec
id just bosh a coupla RST T3s on the Rover, put the carbs in front of the turbos, apadpt the standard crappy fanimolds to take the turbos, and go from there...

Ryan - how much posted mate?
Steve - It was a Zetec turbo I had in mind, not just a standard one! The turbo V8 does sound good however I have never attempted anything even remotely as complex as that & tbh wouldn't know where to start. I have done some research on the web but not found anything conclusive.
I may decide to go down that route. Basically i'm gonna have £2-4k to throw at a project & am struggling to decide which route to go LOL
I suppose i'm mostly scared of jumping into a project then realising it aint gonna be possible on my budget & wasting £££!

lot cheaper and less complex than a zetec turbo, i wasnt even thinking of taking the engine apart, just doing a cheap conversion with stock internals if the engine is in good nick, but could fit uprated head gaskets (thicker too to lower comp) some DIY mild porting, and a general refresh if the engine is a bit tired.
no need for managment, either run the SUs as suck thrus like they always used to on turbo rover v8s, or go buy the suitable inlet to fit a 4barrel and buy a CSU blow thru.
coupla second hand RST T3s should spool up dead quick on a 3.5 V8, coupla cossie 2wd std intercoolers could easily cope with the temps, or just run w.i. only if cant be arsed witth the plumbing, and hey presto, easy 250bhp+300lbft even at real low boost, potentially well over 350 with daft amounts of torque if was safe enough to run 1bar.
and it will sound the absolute bollocks
