True I don't drive like that all the time, but as I stated the Ferrari was up the RST's arse & my mate was behind another car & couldn't pull over if he wanted to. I just gave him some of his own medicine on this occasion, & the Ferrari didn't like it. 70K for that, wasted his money & as for the non Ford performance car drivers slagging us off who don't break the speed limit, wake up & smell what you're shovelling. We've all done it so don't be hypocrites.

ive noticed alot of people have ripped into this matey saying that theres no chance the focus was PUSHING the rari.............
I know which one he's describing,because ive HAD A PROPER tare up with one in the past........i was in this:-

which was running approx 240bhp at the time.
i was on my way to a ford meet at ace cafe via the a4 by great west road.There was a convoy of us and i was in front.I noticed a yellow rarri a bit in front driving quite irratically,so my instant reaction was to catch him up to give him a go..............after weaving in and out of a couple of motors i caught up with him.we were side by side as we were approaching the red lights......as we got down to around 30mph,the lights changed to green and there was nothing in front of us.We both give it full throttle at the same time and we were side by side.I was really giving mine some stick AND I KNOW HE WAS GIVING HIS MOTOR a pasting ans he was hitting the limiter proper stylee trying to get away!!!!It sounded like i was racing an f1 car!!! By the time we hit 130mph the front of my car was level with his rear bumper .After this he backed down and then we pulled up at the next set of reds. I was shocked my crummy escort could keep up with it!!!!His window was open a bit,and i just couldnt resist......i said loudly towards him "thats a waste of money init mate,u'd of been better off buying a house!!!!!! he just looked at me,very embarresd and did his window up!!!!" i then raised the revs looked at him.he would have canned me off the lights,but i was up for it.HE WASNT and poodled away.
I CAN FULLY BELIEVE THE FOCUS STORY!!!! rarri's arent as fast as people think.i see the exact model rarri that i raced at the ford santapod day last year,and it was only getting 13.6 qtrs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Over rated shite.only for people who cant pull birds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol

The 348 will do 60 in 5.2 secs and 175plus mph...its fast..bout the same as my M3 until aerodynamics play a part..then 348 takes it.

My Sierra wipes the pair easily but thats 500 +

Gareth dont underestimate the 348 not ALOT slower than a 355..and better looking IMO with the later wheels

Still i never get any boys trying to race my F car If i did i certainly wouldnt bite as some shit boxes could embarrass seriously upto a certaim speed!

not lately, but i was 4 up (me and 3 big people) with luggage on the way to the airport and an E36 m3 gave it some up the slip road onto the M4
i was surprised that i pulled away from him

but not as surprised as he was when we found out who he was later on that week

his old man had bought him the m3 as a wedding gift when we met up at my mates stag do, and when it dawned on him that it was my car there were REAL tears in his eyes

ok, i'd had my car for all of 2 days after it's turbo's had been done and he'd had it all of 3 days since his old man had bought it so you "could" say that neither of us were used to the performance

but i still count it as me dusting an m3 all those years ago

conventional wisdom would say the frs dind't stand a chance agains the e46

but, top gear track times suggest otherwise:

BMW Z4 M 1.26.0
BMW M3 CSL 1.28.0
BMW M3 1.31.8
Ford Focus RS 1.32.2
Ford Focus ST 1.34.9

0.4 seconds in it means the e46 is quicker, but not by much
now, if you were on baout the fst and the csl, it would be a different story and one that more people would belive if you told them the frs and the e46 put those times down

A little off topic but i had a dam good blat with a small turbo Esc Cos (might have been about 250bhp ish but not sure on that) and it was a dead evens. I couldnt pull any gap and he couldnt close up either so I know my FRS would get killed by a Ferrari of any type due to the fact my FRS is heavier, less aerodynamic, and just not enough power from the engine ............................ yet In that "race" I would have been happier in that fact that i beat the RST

Well you picked a ferrari thats worth about the same as the Escos!!!...I would take the escos aswell...not a lover of the 308 although one of the cheapest to run..and probably on par with the escos.Performance top end Ferrari wins acceleration to 100mph Escos wins....I guess it would come down to..boyracer car or proper car

Ferrari's ARE quick all of them in there era...and compared to unmodded cars still quick....people that are saying they arnt all that dont seem to grasp the f-car is fast out the box

I think you are underestimating your 3dr there mate. I had a blast with a F355 Berlinetta F1 a few years ago down the bypass - it was his idea to go for a blast - was fookin funny when he realised he could not get away and gave up soon after

car was only running 300bhp back then too

if you were out on a track things owuld be different, but out on the public roads you can't do anything too crazy or take too many risks, which is probably where the ferari is let down
they are awesome bits of kit though, my mate had a 355 and he said it was brilliant at everything, it's only the maintenance that put him off, he's now got a 996 turbo thing which he spends his money on
