Default Anglain Water problem

Basically, after the mass thunder & rainfall we had Thursday night, the storm drain which runs under our front garden has overflowed & left human excrement & other waste covering our front garden and ran down the drive over the pathway and into the road. Absolutely stinking.

I called AW to ask them to come and sort it out as it is their responsibility.
Got told they would be out within 12 hrs.
By the next morning, nothing had been done: fair enough: it was over Thurs night & can't do too much in the dark. Came back home around 10am. Still nothing. Went shopping and got back at dinner. Nothing. All the 'stuff' had now started to dry out over our from patio, lawn & drive in the sun. Nice...not. Called them again. Apologised & said they'd be out. Went out & came home at 7-ish. Still nothing had been done. Called them again. Apologised & said they'd be out asap and she'd inform her manager to the problem that it still hadn't been sorted.

As you can guess, nothing done last night. My missus called them 8:30 this morning to give them some grief and gave them 1 hr for someone to be round. Bloke said it had "got lost in the system". What, each time we called it then got lost? Don't think so. Called again at 10:30 as still no-one had arrived. I told them I would be going to the local paper as this is not an acceptable timescale for the job.

Just had to call them again as no-one has been round. Really annoyed now. It has been 41 hours since my initial call, and still they had done nothing.

Environmental Health cannot do anything unless it is running into the drainage system.

So here I am STILL waiting for them to turn up to clean some fookin poo up. I was going to clean it up a bit this morning, but my missus wouldn't let me, now I'm not going to do it on principle.

I bet they'd soon be round if I said I wasn't going ot pay their bill.

Finally they arrive. Only 43 hours after a phone call.
Then they say it's not their responsibility as it's in my front garden: even tho 2 yrs back when we had a different problem, they said the drain WAS theirs and as it was clear at the time they had nothing to do. I have now lifted the cover (stinks like fook and there's shite & johnnys & bog paper & allsorts of mank in there) and it is totally full. Bearing in mind this storm drain is about 5ft deep !

This is not a private property drain, but a public storm drain and they will not take responsibility for it.

Put it all into a big pile and scoop it all into a bin liner. Take bin liner and contents down to the water people and empty contents in front of main doors. Tell them it isnt your problem either. See how long it takes them to clear it up if its on their premises. Then go to the local paper and inform them of how fucking shit the compnay have been. CUNTS

Pipework within your property's boundary is normally the owners responsibility.

This may help however, particularly section 2:

Bud-weis: Called the local council: they weren't interested, also sayig it was not their responsibility. They only deal with drains in the road.

Rich: thought of bagging it up, but didn't want it in the car as it was fookin stinkin.

After getting a call back from Anglian Water they still say they will not do anything (not even as a good will gesture after waiting 43 hours!!), so I called a drain company to clear it. Ł83 later, it seems that the pipework may be breaking down upstream of where the cover is. The problem is that we are not connected to this drain until much further downstream. This waste pipe passes in our front garden from houses from the road next to ours (we live on a corner), whilst OUR waste goes out the back and down the road before finally connecting to this pipe later.

So this back-up is from other houses, but blocks up in our drain junction and eventually overflows, flooding our garden. It doesn't even affect the fookin people who are causing the blockage

Billabong: cheers for the info, couldn't find much on their website...altho I may be asking for the sewerage plans now.

Next step might also be to find out where we legally stand ref the pipe breaking down as I'll be fooked if i'm Ł80 each time it blocks when it is only circumstance that the cover is in my garden.
Also considering getting the access sealed close ot the bottom (kinda making a complete pipe) so that it floods the fookin neighbours instead of mine. It's their waste, they can have the fooker

Cheers for the help & advice....

Edited t oadd: Why the fook do we pay sewerage rates if WE own the pipework & have to pay for the maintenance on it ???
