Bud-weis: Called the local council: they weren't interested, also sayig it was not their responsibility. They only deal with drains in the road.

Rich: thought of bagging it up, but didn't want it in the car as it was fookin stinkin.

After getting a call back from Anglian Water they still say they will not do anything (not even as a good will gesture after waiting 43 hours!!), so I called a drain company to clear it. £83 later, it seems that the pipework may be breaking down upstream of where the cover is. The problem is that we are not connected to this drain until much further downstream. This waste pipe passes in our front garden from houses from the road next to ours (we live on a corner), whilst OUR waste goes out the back and down the road before finally connecting to this pipe later.

So this back-up is from other houses, but blocks up in our drain junction and eventually overflows, flooding our garden. It doesn't even affect the fookin people who are causing the blockage

Billabong: cheers for the info, couldn't find much on their website...altho I may be asking for the sewerage plans now.

Next step might also be to find out where we legally stand ref the pipe breaking down as I'll be fooked if i'm £80 each time it blocks when it is only circumstance that the cover is in my garden.
Also considering getting the access sealed close ot the bottom (kinda making a complete pipe) so that it floods the fookin neighbours instead of mine. It's their waste, they can have the fooker

Cheers for the help & advice....

Edited t oadd: Why the fook do we pay sewerage rates if WE own the pipework & have to pay for the maintenance on it ???
