I've had both Cheques and Bankers drafts in the past . Some people arent confident with cash in case they get caught with dodgy notes

Its usually tradesman, builders, plumbers, joiners, car dealers etc etc that will always ask the 'how much for cash?' question, or people who deal with those people every day.

For obvious reasons, they'll prefer cash every time as they can benefit from taking cash rather than a cheque or bankers draft, so its in their nature to use the 'cash question' in a bid to get a discount.

If anyone asks me what the lowest ill go for cash, ill just double what I actually want for it.

From personal experience though, when buying a car from a dealer, it will always benefit you and the dealer to take cash in your pocket, and use the said 'cash question'.

it just means "quick sale" rather than literally cash imo.

obviously most people pay by cash, but cheque or bankers draft is still acceptable - but will obviously take longer to clear and therefore slow down the sale.

saying 'for cash' just means got the cash here and we could complete today (or the like)!

Good point yes, if the seller needs the money quick for whatever reason, the they might give a discount for cash.
