Default urgent, car wont start :wall:

All I've swapped is the plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm and phase sensor and now the damn thing wont fire up

What shall I try? can somone confirm the order the leads go on and which teminals on the cap thye fit? and am I right in thinking the cap only fits in one position?

Had to register another user btw as I'm not at home and cant remember my password

Anyone?

Cheers

Yeah but I was thinking 2wd or 4x4 so this question can be answered:

"can somone confirm the order the leads go on and which teminals on the cap thye fit?"

its 2wd, just swapped the cap for the one that suits the later plug leads, could this have anything to do with it or not?

can someone please confirm the correct way for the leads to go on?

I've put the original cap and phase sensor back on, all I need to do is connect the leads up correctly, if you look at the cap directly theres 5 connections, top middle is for the coil, where do the rest of them go and what order do they connect to the plugs in, as looking at the engine from the front?

Really need to sort it so I can get to work tomorrow

From memory the red wire goes on the left pin. Have you got a spark from the coil?

yes the phase sensor needs gapping. 7-12 thou is ok.

The lead that goes from the coil to the dizzy cap, take it off at Dizzy end and hold a couple of cm from the lifting eye on your engine. Get someone to crank your car over and you should see a spark. If you dont then that is a problem.

Damn, I'm on my own, cant get anyone to crank it while I check that. although I didnt know the phase sensor needed gapping and just fitted it, I bet this was the problem, how do you line up the sensor to gap it? this has turned into a right shower of shit, wish I'd never bothered
