GUNSHIP STG1 AND STANDARD COSSIE BOX?????????
Hi guys im getting my k plate 67k miler saff cossie 4x4 in a couple of months and ill be getting a NMS slightley detuned gunship stg1 conversion done on the car,ill have about 290 bhp and approx 300lbt torque, will the standard gearbox handle that power without exploding everytime i boot it (im not going to be hammering it just general driving and giving it some when roads permit etc), cheers all

The reason being is the last 4 gunship conversions Karl has done have all fucked the boxes in a matter of weeks...
So I imagine if a customer has asked a question about the longevity of the box Karl has prehaps suggested a slightly detuned version.
I have been out in one of these and the emphasis is more on smoothness than box breaking have it like fuck power.
who knows though....

spoke to karl and liked the idea of the gunship and the way it delivers its power but had the issues as mentioned above karl then said that he can tailer make any combination i like inbetween the stg1 and the gunship conversion, so the one ive picked is peaking at 18-19 psi btween 2.5-5k tailing of to 16psi and holding 14 psi after 6k, so just a little bit more than the stg1 with minimal drawbacks, plus its all mapped aswell as aposed to a plug in chip ad it will go very nice on the road ive been told

I have had my gunship for around two months now with no problems what so ever. 22-23 psi at the top
Bit less power in mine as I still have my CATs fitted, but Karl retained the closed Loop so no problems with MOT tests as proved last week when it flew through the emission test.
I have previously had a stage 1 3dr, stage 3 Escos and now the Gunship on my Saph 4x4 and pound for performance this is by far the best conversion, and easy to use as day to day car.

i have had my car set up by Karl, running greys, peaking at 1.7 bar tailing off to 1.4 (on a T3) but asked for a really smooth power delivery, that is exactly what i got, i have had the car back a couple of months and all seems good on the gear box, any concerns, speak to karl, he will tell you what your car can handle and will map it accordingly.

My gunship has been fine, peaks about 23psi then tails off at top end, very brutal delivery, and have had no problems, going back later in year to get it set up again but this time on 355's as am running in a new engine, but this wasn't caused by conversion as was using a lot of oil before I had it done. but then again am 2wd, I have however now fitted an alcon 6 paddle clutch to be on the safe side, I would recommend this conversion to anybody.
