RS 4 Spoke Fitting Question
hello peeps, need some advice here as am scratching my head here
bare with my bable but ill explain it best i can
on the mk5 rs2k this is
right
standard rs2k steering wheel on ok , thats it bog standard
removal process i did the following:
1, removed ford horn push with a screwdriver
2, removed inner plastic bit which the horn push wires sit in
3, removed the big bolt that steering wheel is held on by
4, steering wheel comes off job sorted
on the back of the steering wheel (standard one i just removed) there is a gold plate thin, held on by 3 philips screws, i undo this and remove it from its boss so to speak.
NEW WHEEL ...
i have a rs 4 spoke steering wheel as pictured here (this isnt my one but have he same)CLICK HERE
i then take the gold plate thing and screw it to the back of the new boss on the new steering wheel, i push all the wires through the boss and through the steering wheel bit, i then go to place the rs4 spoke onto the car and do it up but because of this plate bit i cant get the steering wheel to go on , so if i undo the 3 screws and take the plate off the boss then has no problem going into the bit it sits in and i can then do it up
question is - do i need a special plate bit for that so it sits in ok
OR can i wire in the positive wire and negative wire another way at all ....
further .....
i ran out of time so i just done the wheel up and put the horn push on , i reconnected the battery too
here comes the brilliant bit without pushing the horn (baring in mind theres no wires) if i steer left to right it beeps i know it shouldnt do this
but iam wondering if anyone knows the ins and outs of fitting these buggers and getting it working
i got the rs 4 spoke wheel the special boss for it to fit the mk5 and the horn push etc
any help apriciated
