Default urgent help needed any ideas

we have my grans old car as a runner around as she past away its one of those fiestas on the y reg 12.5 zetec things if just been out in it to the shop got back in turned the key and the clocks are going crazy,it wont start nothing just needles going mad like rev counter one hitting the wrong side of the needle any ideas whats just happened

It looks like you have a flat battery,

i was only out the car for 2 minutes though ? never showed signs of a flat battery before always started as if it was new

As said flat battery or a fooked alternator, was in a focus the other week when the alternator went and it did exactly the same.
