At least 2 other white Saffs! both 2wd.....

There was a 2wd white saff with RS 7 spokes died. He launched ok but the tramp he got on the rear wheels was fookin terrible! I turned to my mate sitting next to me and said 'Fook me! Look at the state of that tramp! That's a diff killer!' Then out of 1st into 2nd and BANG..............Diff

Hi Lads

sorry to hear about the diffs

but these standard cossy diff are too old , they were good when they were new thats about it

I see loads of cossy owners with a min of 330 bhp in 2wd with standard diffs

lets be honest here they aren't going to take that kind of abuse

i don't why some of you don't bite the bullit and buy proper uprated diff it will stand a shite load of abuse

when i blew my diff at the pod ages ago , that was enough for me i bought a proper plated diff and haven't looked back since

I agree with Marco, the secondhand diffs floating around are nearly all fooked anyway.

For once i drove my car home from the Pod
Usually get a lift from a very nice AA/RAC man but not this time
My new clutch didn't want to play ball on the way to the pod so i didn't even bother running

Tramping isn't caused by the diff its caused by the rear suspension set-up!

Tramping is basically when the back end of the car bounces up and down, this means the tyres keep getting shock loads from the tarmac which are then applied to the diff via the driveshafts.

Stopping it is a suspension or tyres issue.

put them all up in a proper hostel

but as chip has explined, it's all to do with suspension angles, if you have your suspension set up right you can get the car to twist if you have enough grip, if you don't then the wheels spin, and if the suspension is crap then you get it bouncing baout all over the place

what you want is to be able to put the power down smoothly so it's not bouncing the car up and down or getting wasted in whel spin

as chip says but mods need to be mad as a lowered sapp with soft back end ends up launching on the sidewalls with the massive cambers

Hi peeps

I'll give you a few specs of the 7.5 diff

when was new and left the factory the LSD VC was rated @ 60 nm thats all

so most of them are fooked now you be lucky if the LSD works at all .... no wounder they can't dounut properly

also to stop tramping upgrade the rear suspension

i have been through all this shit years ago never c again i saved my money and bought proper stuff

lets be honest here this is what most people do when they get a cossie

they all go for big engine power as first mod on then leave the rest of the cars pretty standand
