Default Zetec owners... kit cars in particular!

I'm in the process of building a mk6 escort track car but have thought of a problem in advance!!

I don't know of any zetec-e engined car which didn't have power steering!

Naturally, I am removing this in search of feather-weight lightness!

Hopefully a member of this site owns, or knows of an auxiliary belt which will work when the P/S pulley is missing?

Thanks in advance,

Ralph.

my xr2i 16v zetec E was on a 92 plate and didn't have power steering. It just had a tri belt setup with crank, water pump and front mount alternator pulley drives.

the answer is: cut your belt to size and take it to your local motor factors... they should be able to find one the right length for you

That belt would be SPOT ON!

Is that just off a really early zetec?

TBH I'm not sure what it's officially for, we tried a few from our friendly motor factors, this one is made by Gates - part number 68401, should be easily available. The engine is from a 94 Escort, it went into a MK3 car so the power steering pump got taken off.
