Default One more bit of PC help needed :wall:

Right we've got this new PC for the spare room

thing is on certain web pages it keeps bringing up

" The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
"

pain in the arse as one of the things that brings this up is the logon screen for internet banking @ www.lloydstsb.co.uk


can anyone shed any light as to why its bringing this page up whenever we click ?


ive checked the security settings... nothing too strange set up

Try the following for starters:

Cannot View Secure Web Sites (https
If you cannot view or access secure web pages (those beginning with an https:// URL) you may experience an of these symptoms:

You cannot get into hotmail and yahoo email accounts.
Cannot view secure web sites
Cannot get into pay pal
Cannot do a windows update
Cannot get into bank web sites
To resolve this problems, these steps to reset a dll file required to view secure web sites.

Click Start.
Click Run.
Type regsvr32 softpub.dll
Click OK. A pop-up should display with the message Dll Register Server in softpub.dll Succeeded.
Click OK

also cant update via windows update

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

download firefox and give that a try!
