Default Transit failure description

Good morning, I'm asking for your help with a seemingly unsolvable problem. I broke down on a beautiful July afternoon on my way home from work. After stopping for half an hour, so the engine was still hot, the engine struggled to start and after a few kilometers it generated a lot of very nauseating white smoke and the engine went into degraded mode refusing to rev up. My first research is directed towards the EGR valve and I plan to do a hydrogen cleaning. The mechanic refuses since his preliminary diagnosis shows an error code for the TDC sensor. After replacing it, the problem persists and a number of visits to various garages have not solved the problem. Having some notions of mechanics I therefore decided to take care of it and I discovered that the distribution had shifted by one tooth on the intake camshaft, the first symptoms corresponded well to this type of problem. breakdown. Despite the retiming of the distribution, the change of the chain tensioner, the change of the FIP, of various sensors, the verification of the CPM and the test of another engine wiring harness (since an IDS scan detected a communication fault in a CAN bus wire) the fault is still there. Normally on this 2.4 l TDDI 2003 duratorq engine, the change of the FIP does not need reprogramming but..... Could you tell me if I should try a reprogramming or if I should move in another direction, but which one?
Thanks for your good advice.
