Default Saph 4x4 ecu issue

Hi guys, when i bought my Kreg saph it had a spare ecu with it as it was going to be used to install wasted spark.

After i sold the saph i sold the ecu and the buyer returned it saying the adjusting screw was missing.

Is this repairable as obviously the L8 ecu's are still quite sought after?

Thanks in advance

are you sure its level 8 with missing screw or is it a p8 ecu, if it is the buyer has had a bargain as they are worth more.

Fascinating concoction. Its a L8 motherboard installed in a L6 ecu case with the Co Screw AND its potentiometer removed and unsoldered from the motherboard.

The chip in there looks like its been in and out at least 10 times too as the bloody ink has been rubbed off the label!

On the upside, the chips specs are as follows:

Basic Calibration Specification for 5099:
  • Originally Sold: Aug 2008
  • ECU Type: L8 ECU
  • Babyboard Required: Yes
  • Encryption Key required: Yes - Green
  • Pectel or Weber: Weber.
  • Engine Type: Ford YB 2.0
  • Engine Compression: Standard
  • Head Spec: Standard
  • Camshaft Spec: Standard:
  • Injectors: Bosch 803s
  • Turbocharger: T3.48
  • Map Sensor: 3 bar
  • Intercooler: RS500 type

Additional Features Installed:
  • Closed Loop active: Yes
  • Air Injectors active: No.
  • Serial Data active: Yes.
  • Anti Lag active: No
  • Launch Control active: No
  • Flat Shift active: No

If you can buy a cheap scrap L6 and send me them both I can take the pot from the L6 and fit it to that L8.

Yes - its the correct ECU for your 4x4 if your wanting it as a spare.

I must one day learn to fooking read, sorry mate.

Yes, the L8 is a good upgrade but requires the PF09 TPS to work correctly along with 2 wires reversing. Well worth doing.

Thanks mate, what is the cost involved in getting the wires changed and the new tps.

Also does the chip from my l6 fit or will it need new chip too?

TPS are not available at the mo. Outer 2 wires need swapping for tps but thats easy.
And yes you will need another chip to suit your spec as L6 won't work.

I'm sure Stu will clarify
