yeah its what is known as bulking as the bulk rings are worn..

Get it out and get a service done on it mate..

Gearbox man (cts) charges around £575 all in picked up and delivered to do a complete strip down and rebuild..then all will be good!

cheers danny

first thing I'd check is your prop shaft lengths if you are using a live axle

4th gear syncro can be done without a box strip just remove the input shaft
common problem is damaged shift plates digging into the syncro ring

too long a prop cab cause the main shaft to be pushed forward with axle movement
which can cause gear selection issues
seen it before
easy enough to check

either way get it sorted by a proper gearbox man..

Ps unless the prop is pushed right up against the back of the box then it wont cause a problem..

cheers danny

I'm using a T5 box, and before I lowered the back end of the car, it was acting up through the gears. this was caused because the front joint was at an angle, and after lowering the back , and the joint straightened out, it was fine.

IMO as Turbosystems suggests have a look at the prop but when the car is on the floor
