cossie idling too high, any ideas??

Default cossie idling too high, any ideas??

as above noticed the saph is idling at 2k the last few days has just started doing it any ideas what it could be cheers?

Try unpluging the iscv see if it drops ....or could be a water temp sensor fault and thats causing ya running problems....

iscv is unpluged mate was when i bought it, but its just started doing that the last few days

hi scottyrs had something similar to that disconnected the tps sprayed and cleaned the connection all was well.

Was gonna say air leak,. Get some easy start, spray it around the inlet gaskets and pipe work etc. When the engine note changes, you have found your leak.

As above can't do the speed without the air, maybe a sticky throttle cable/linkage ?

is it a 2wd? if it is i wouldnt be surprised if the idle screw has fallen out completely

check all your vaccum pipes,inlet manifold gasket,idle screw. it does sound like an air leak.

As said will be an air leak, my money would be on the plenum gasket, be do check the said throttle is not getting stuck open a tad which would cause this.

If there was no idle screw it would do the opposite and not idle at all.

didnt realise i had all these replies i havent got the car at the minute its getting work done at a garage butwhen i get it back ill check for any air leaks and let you know cheers

iv had this

1. air leak
2. take the iscv out as iv had one fall to bits which lets air pass into the inlet

im sorry martysmartie but your wrong . ive had it happen

the idle screw falls out and air is free to pass from atmosphere into the plenum bypassing the butterfly altogether.

Yea mine done the same, lost it when calling at my mothers but found it again.

Fair enough, that usually only happens though when the lock nut is not tightened down correctly.
