Default Duratec into a Sierra?

Has anyone ever put a inline 4 Duratec into a Sierra?

I'm living in the USA and have an XR4ti. I want to put a turbo Duratec into my car, and just seeing if anyone has ever done this with this chassis....

Will I be the first? haha...

OOPS! I should have remembered there are lots of Duratec motors when talking about this.

Anyways I'm looking into the 2.0 or 2.3 Inline 4 Duratec. I was going to upgrade the internals and hang a turbo on the side and call it a day.

Fitment isnt an issue, Ive seen a ONE swap halfway done...then no updates, like the owner fell off the earth.

I thought he did a couple things the hard way though and wanted to see if anyone else had done things differently.

The Zetec is different enough that even if I looked at that car in person, it wouldnt help me AT ALL in getting ideas to swap a Duratec into my car.

Should be pretty simple i would of thought with only engine and box mounts and prop need making or modding !! MX5 or Ranger gearbox and front end of prop should help maybe RX7 or 8 if bellhousing pattern is the same too ??

Yeah mounts shouldnt be hard, MX5 Mounts might even work if Ranger truck mounts dont.

Planning on using NC MX5 gearbox.

He started... almost 3 years ago. Seems like he is doing alot of unneeded custom parts though, and it looks like you might have issues with the heater box with what he is doing..

Yeah I don't think he's gonna run a heater! Why did Ford put them so close to the firewall!?
I'd love to see if one can be squeezed in without touching the firewall.
When the Mazdaspeed 3 turbos become crashed and available you would think this swap would be a no brainer!

No, The turbos are facing the wrong way(inlet towards rear of the engine!!) on all of those cars and then you have to figure out the direct injections and move the top mount intercooler,etc....

Its a mess. Haha.

By the time I would attempt this swap I wouldn't be surprised if people like Burton power etc would have brought out inlets and exhaust manifolds to take care of that...I'm hoping anyway! lol!

It'll probably be on MerkurSport.

I'm thinking of a log style header for now just for reliability and simplicity. I'll ahve enough teething issues during/after the install as it is...
