How much BHP?
Right, to cut a long story short, i`ve bought my old 2wd cossie back and now it has a new engine. I don`t have a rolling road graph for it yet but this will be done in the next few weeks. My question, could someone please tell me roughly how much power it should have? The spec is as follows:
Low compression Accralite forged pistons
H section rods
ARP rod bolts
Lightened & Balanced Crank
High pressure oil pump
Cometic Multi layer Head gasket
ARP Nut and Stud kit
T34 Turbo
.63 Housing
Pace RS500 Intercooler
Airtec Rad
Black Siemens Injectors
044 Fuel pump
Motorsport Developments 380+BHP Chip
Grp A Coil
At the moment, it boosts at 7 psi which i`m told can be increased once i`ve fitted the fuel pump relay kit which will supply 12.8v.
Cheers, Ed.

Very odd spec especially for 7 psi, but well under 300 bhp I'd say I run on one map 17/18 psi on a T3/34 for 300bhp.
As Danny says first place it needs going is to a decent RR, to exploit the full potential of the engine/chip.

Yeah it was a thought after i posted about the turbo size, so fair shout mate, i always thought they ran more boost standard, so yeah ill go with that 240-250 bhp. bigger injectors dont mean it will be quicker though lol.

i remember a mate telling me on mfi cvh's you could turn the nozzles in the injectors 180 degrees to make them richer and it would make 20+bhp lol

A bit unfair really, I can't see anywhere where the op has "boasted"about power, in fact he was asking for a rough idea of what it should be.

Standard boost is 0.7 BAR/0.8 BAR what you are running has been done for good reason most likely due to the new engine is my guess.
The fuel pump rewiring is done as the standard wiring can degrade due to it's age, building resistance and so you don't get the needed power at the pump. You want to actually be seeing alternator voltage at the pump WHEN under load, the fan OE wiring is also hopeless, even when new and needs checking/rewiring.
Even so you have a bigger turbo and other parts so even as it is at the moment I should think it's more than standard power around 2 BAR of boost should see the 380 mark, Impreza's are nothing special, so I don't see why everyone's piping up.
Even as standard there fast, it's just people compare to theirs which are tuned, so to them they would be slow.

been researching and i believe all yb's were 8-9 psi.
for running a fresh bottom end in though, id only run standard boost, obviously not too much to kill it, but enough to run it in, i know of people who have run their cars in like pussys and not even came on boost for 1,000 miles, been too careful, then ran alot of boost and manage to nacker it up in a matter of days... my chris astley built c20let was the same

so standard cosworth boost should be 12 psi? so if he is running much less boost albeit with a bigger turbo, i would suggest the car is producing sub-standard power, ok the bigger turbos exhaust maybe slightly slacker, but the inlet boost is far less than std, and at this boost level i think the exhaust size has little effect on engine performance. But as said power means nothing, as long as your happy with what you have.

Well i can`t exactly say i`m surprised at some of the idiotic comments on here, but still, this is Passionford after all. I was purely asking roughly what sort of power i was looking at, not once did I claim i had i had more power than i actually have. Yes, i know it is a low amount of boost but i was told it was turned down to this figure until the fuel pump was sorted. Still, thanks to the few helpful comments, I now know roughly what to expect when i do go to get it setup.
