4WD running problems
Hi everyone,
Posted a thread some some weeks ago (4x4 cosworth spark plugs) regarding a misfire on my cosworth.
After reading the replies i got i made some changes to the car wich ive listed below.
New rotar arm
Distributor cap
Full lead kit
Grp A coil Pack
Genuine 071 spark plugs with gap set at 0.5mm for now.
I basicly thought the car was misfiring as when im driving along nice n steady i can feel the car spluter for afew seconds, then it will go back to running nice and smooth. Sometimes this happens regularly and sometimes now and again. More so when its warmed up.
It realy causes problems when this happens as the turbo comes in because its really wanting to pull but the revs just wont build up.
And i dont know why but its at its worst when i try n reverse onto my drive wich is on a small incline.
Can anybody advise me on what to look at next.
Getin abit p...ed off with it now.

Check the phase sensor, more importantly the wiring inside the cap as these are prone to snapping and shorting out hence overfuelling, this shows itself more on boost like you say you have. May remotely be the CTS but it would be rough running all the time if this were the case they go out of calibration after a while.

It may be an idea to check the 3 black multiplugs on the bulkhead just above the cam cover as these have been known to fuck about or even better, cut them out entirely and hard wire the loom. I did this on a mates car that was having all sorts of misfire faults and it cured it totally.
