Default T38 or T4

If i keep the 4i i am thinking about changing the turbo, what would you use ?

I know i will need bigger injectors.

Current spec

Ported head
Standard cams
7.8.1 comp

Steve with 10,000 posts here do you really need to ask this question?

But if you are on T34 now... well people who "upgrade" to a T38 often complain about the added lag, so what's the point of going as far as a T4 unless you're planning 500bhp?

My 38 made 456bhp/ torque wasn,t brilliant only 358, but i think cam/s may of not helped..saying that too, i hated my T38 setup, unlike Mr Mc fooking Crashes, mine didn,t boost until 4200...horrid..........

T4 over a T38 my torque figures settle that argument imo, GT30's seem to be a good bit of kit aswell though.

I recommend the Holset HY35w.

They pull them off brand new diesel trucks around here and they sit in a bin. They make stupid power with excellent spool times.

The Volvo guys make silly amounts of power with them as well.

As pete has said only on greys, they might be on there limit but the AFR didnt drop below 11.8 AFR at any point on the run. The car has lasted 2.5 years and a full day around dono so if it was going to melt i am sure it would have by now.

The car only runs 27-28psi and is just the very old skool way of getting a genuine 420bhp, i only wanted Ahmed to map my car so thats the spec i went for. The car made more than i thought it would but it was ran on a DD hub dyno so pretty sure the figures are spot on.

The boost hose popped off as i had split[23 year old rs500 one] a few days before and had to bodge the new one on to get it there. Pip at WGT said it would have made atleast another 5 or 10 bhp if the hose hadnt come off, due to how the low boost graph was still rising when the hose popped off on the full boost graph. Made 340bhp at 18psi.
