Default FAO rev counter changers

I am getting a bit peed off with me tacho, having a mind of it's own, I was going to renew all the electronic parts with decent stuff that worked but thought about a different tacho.
I've now got a tacho from a mk2 grandad ghia V6 to use.
Has anyone else swapped theirs out and what did you use ?
I like the grandad one as the pointer starts at the 5 o'clock position and goes clockwise with 6000rpm being at the 12 o'clock position, only annoying thing is the redline at around 5700, and the tacho mechanism only goes to around 7300rpm which is where my soft cut limiter is, but still better imo.
So what have you lot done ?

I've got a piccie of the mondy one grafted in, looks nice and factory, I just have always liked the xr3 type same sort as mk2 granny where the pointer is at bottom.
I did notice on the piccie I have the mondy one is a bit bigger, the granny one is almost exactly the right size.
The only awkward thing is the granny one is front lit, whereas the clock housing is back lit, so I'm just sitting it back a few mm, till I get the illumination right.
I would post a piccie of the granny rev counter but can't as I'm a computer dummy and don't know how, it never works for me!!
I ran the rev counter on me desk and it works fine, I think the 3 connections are even in the same place as the cossie clocks.

As for the wiring as you look at the back of the mondeo tacho you have 3 pins top, middle and bottom

The top pin on the tacho goes to the left pin on the ribbon cable

middle pin(the one with white tape on it) goes to the middle pin on the ribbon cable

and the bottom pin on the tacho goes to the right pin on the ribbon cable

hope that all makes sense

Its an old pic but I used it while I was looking for a new set of clocks as I had white dials when I first got the car
