Default Minimum Head Thickness?

I'm thinking about buying this head:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
But not sure with it being 138.00mm is it going to be any good?
I've got an untouched unskimmed head on the 3 door at the moment which I was going to get done. But now not sure whether to buy this and get the pistons machined to suit the sell my head?
What do you reckon?
Cheers Rich

138.6 is the recommended minimum.

lots of people use heads which are lower than 138mm, but if i was building a new motor then i would want a head as thick as i can find

as pointed out in the thread i posted, its the valve seats that get weak. imagine if you'd just built a new new bottom end only for a valve seat to come out and mash one of the pistons & head!

if you ever want any head work doing, this guy is your man - well thought of on here

http://www.roperdevelopments.co.uk/

Cosworth Sierra YB http://www.roperdevelopments.co.uk/cosworth_yb.htm

Fast Road Fitted with new inlet and exhaust guides £528.75
WRC Specification with new inlet and exhaust guides £575.00
Big Horse Power Competition 500+ bhp, inlets port bored 26.5mm £650.00

if you have a head which is good thickness, i think these prices are extreamly good. Consideing the head in the link posted was £1250.
