Lost keys - don't live in the UK
So I have an 88 Sapphire I bought from the govt. No keys for it.
If I pull the door tumbler will there be a TX number there for the tibbe key?
I have a Scorpio that has keys and I'd switch over the locks but the ignition key needs to be in there to get it out "nicely". Any chance there is a way to get the ignition out without the key? I don't mind killing the ignition as the Scorpio one will fit.

You can strip the lock down and get the key number from the order of the tumblers inside. A dealer will then cut the key to that number for you.
You will probably need to buy one new lock though as there's a plastic clip that holds the lock together, this will probably break when you take the lock apart.
Hope this helps!

Bailiff. Failed business.
PS - you guys rock. I'll have this baby on the road and lockable in no time.

Is that you Wes? Yeah, it's a NACS car = the white one. Seems that Rakesh sold it to Noman Afridi in 2007.
Paul - car is unlocked and the steering shaft has been loosened off to steer it by the rack knuckle, avoiding the steering lock.

There is always someone in a big city who knows "something" so I will track down a wise locksmith eventually.
