Default MAP Sensor Vacuum Pipe Length

Does the MAP sensor vacuum pipe from the Inlet Manifold (in this case a swedish inlet) have to be a certain lengh or can it be whatever fits best?
Cheers Rich

Ford states:

The hose length from sensor to manifold should always be in the range of 280mm plus or minus 20mm

I remember someone saying it had to be a certain length, i'll make sure it's the right length tomorrow.

Can't even remember where I heard it, just stuck in my mind when I was putting the Swedish Manifold on.

perhaps for unmodifed engine

if you change injectors turbo
put swedish plenum ...
do you think it's still important to have 280mm ???

I relocate my MAP with the swedish plenum and lengh will be 400mm ; I will just give the information to MSD

most important is to have a rigid hose (not silicon hose !!)

I can't really see why it HAS to be a certain length, within reason. I think the latency you'd incur by doubling or tripling its length would have no noticeable effects.
