fans again
Been reading this thread and seems like im not alone.
Had the normal probs with my fans and fan loom.
Have made a new loom with was ok for a while but then the inline fuse popped again.
Does that mean new fans?
Also the fans come on when the water gauge reads 200f (dont take much notice of the dash gauge changes every day!) is that ok,or should i be looking in to a new rad switch from stu?
One more thing, when the fans was working the weekend they was not dropping the the temp below 195f after i pulled up at home so didnt switch off till i turned the car off.
But then it was f**king hot the weekend.
Should of said its a 1990 saff 4x4

I dunno. It seems to run fine and Karl didn't say anything when he was mapping it. The fuel gauge under reads a bit, so I assumed the temp prob did as well.
Certainly it went up to the top quick enough when I lost my coolant and blew it up!!

My 4x4 Sapphire runs at about 87 degrees when driving normally but if I sit in traffic the temprature rises to about 98 degrees when the fans cut in. The problem I have is that the fans seem to struggle to get the temprature back down to the point where they cut out again.
The engine water temps drop to around about 90 degrees when stationary with the fans on and slightly lower when the car is moving. The car does have an RS500 intercooler fitted which will restrict air flow a bit , but I have fitted a PACE 50mm rad and have also replaced the fans with a set from Pro alloy. Have also changed the fan sensor and fitted a new seperate fan loom. I fitted the new loom as I was worried the old wiring may burn out with the fans running for such long periods of time.
Does anyone else have problems with the cooling fans running for long periods of time? Is there anything I can do to improve the cooling?
PS also have a high pressure header tank fitted and swirl pot.

also it's better to take temperture from swirl pot with water sensor(fan switch) because it anticipates freeze, with result the fans works little time!
