Default fans again

Been reading this thread and seems like im not alone.
Had the normal probs with my fans and fan loom.
Have made a new loom with was ok for a while but then the inline fuse popped again.
Does that mean new fans?
Also the fans come on when the water gauge reads 200f (dont take much notice of the dash gauge changes every day!) is that ok,or should i be looking in to a new rad switch from stu?
One more thing, when the fans was working the weekend they was not dropping the the temp below 195f after i pulled up at home so didnt switch off till i turned the car off.
But then it was f**king hot the weekend.
Should of said its a 1990 saff 4x4

Mine NEVER goes above 1/4 of the temp gauge and fans only operate for a min or 2 when parked. Hopefully this is normal!!

If he was running without a thermostat then it would still come up to temp when stationary or in traffic, becuase the water would just keep heating up until the fans cut in.

I dunno. It seems to run fine and Karl didn't say anything when he was mapping it. The fuel gauge under reads a bit, so I assumed the temp prob did as well.

Certainly it went up to the top quick enough when I lost my coolant and blew it up!!

Fitted my new fan switch yesterday, fans now come in when my gauage shows 100 degrees and cuts out again at 90 degrees. Big thanks to Stu for sorting me out with a switch.

Mine is fitted too - brilliant!!

Its wired to a warning diode as my fans are on a switch. My block temp sensor says it comes in at 90 now - much better )

The engine water temps drop to around about 90 degrees when stationary with the fans on and slightly lower when the car is moving. The car does have an RS500 intercooler fitted which will restrict air flow a bit , but I have fitted a PACE 50mm rad and have also replaced the fans with a set from Pro alloy. Have also changed the fan sensor and fitted a new seperate fan loom. I fitted the new loom as I was worried the old wiring may burn out with the fans running for such long periods of time.

Does anyone else have problems with the cooling fans running for long periods of time? Is there anything I can do to improve the cooling?

PS also have a high pressure header tank fitted and swirl pot.
you have swirl pot,so you can placements coils for water sensor(under swirl pot),the sensor must be 92 -87 or 94 -87degrees,then must be made a new electric line, with thickly cables, also must be use 70 relay and 40 fuse, whole the circuit it will take current straight from the battery,so you will have stronger air to rad and the time refrigeration will be shorter because the fans takes current straight from battery and the turns of fans have more power, also you can placements switches on-off inside your car!
also it's better to take temperture from swirl pot with water sensor(fan switch) because it anticipates freeze, with result the fans works little time!
