I agree with Tab, however, if you have the same width wheels all-round and own a 2WD I'd put on the same tyre(the 215/40) all-round so you can swap wheels from rear to front (O/S/R tyre to O/S/F; N/S/R to N/S/F and vice versa) . Otherwise you'll be buying new rear tyres every other week.

If its a 2wd i would go 235/40/17 on the rear and 215/40/17 on the front. I have ran this set up for over 18months and the wider tyre on the back really does make a massive difference, funny old thing bigger contact patch = More grip.
If its a 4x4 then 215/40/17 all round or it will fook the centre VC up.

So now even wheelspin is chavvy? Please....
Anyway, if you swap rears to front, let's every 2 weeks (also to account for the negative camber lowered Sierras suffer from) you will do longer with your tyres. Agreed, eventually you'll need 4 new tyres rather than 2 rear tyres more often. But that's just my opinion and that's what a forum is about, right? Sharing opinions and facts where applicable.

I dont even have a modded beam just some shims and i dont suffer from un even wear. Funny how the 2 people on here who are saying why swap front and backs are the ones who have sorted there alignment issues.
