Default rockercover breather worth getting?

Hi, i have currently a cosworth equiped with the kidneybox removed, but with a big pipe going to a separator/catchtank. after that into the air.
Now i've noticed the bailey kinds, do have a 2nd pipe returing the oil into the sump @ the otherside. ( i can understand that one) But the 3rd pipe breathes the rockercover.
Why is is that? Is there lots gas blowing by the valveguides?
Or as extra backup when the kidneybox can't vent enough?

thanks in advance,

Extra security when on boost basically as blow by is horrendous if running high boost, and it would soon blow out gasket/oil out r/cover.

do you have to vent through rocker cover or is there somewhere else you can vent instead of rocker cover, which does a similar job?? as ive got a breather but forgot to ask for a pipe put into the rocker cover before it got powder coated

Oke thanks, but an extra vent @ the exhaust side where bailey types returns could also do to reduce the pressure enough instead of the rockercover?
(oke i'll have empty my catchtank time to time, no probs 4 me)

The one on the exhaust side can always be used as a return, ideally the return would be lower than the oil level, but if this one were placed on the bottom of the tank it would act as a drain back, then just vent tank to atmo from highest point after trap.

the CAMcover is vented to the crankcase anyway where the oil drops back down

Yes but if running silly boost every little helps, personally I like the yank evacusump systems.

You don't need the cam cover breather. Using decent size pipes from the normal locations will be more than enough for the majority of cars. I actually removed my cam cover breather as personally i don't like the look of them!

most of the big tuners actualy advise not to use the cam cover breather for big power cars now,
the best breather system is 1 pipe either side of the block and a return going BELOW the oil level in the sump
using the pipe at the turbo side will NOT do on a big power car
as they can pressurise on boost, or on hard cornering and fill the catch tank in minutes
black escort in my sig had this problem
andy g sorted it, had the prob himself with his focus
now has the system i described above now with no probs

Hi guys!
I ready to kill myself and to burn this car!
I connected the bailey oil separator tank like at the picture. But i have many oil leak at timing belt side of the engine. I replaced three cometic camcover gasket, camshaft half moons and (three timing belts) but still have oil leak.Camshaft oil seals are new (and haven't oil leaks).
Also small oil leak at the camcover end of the pipe from camcover to separator...
What is the trouble with this very-very expensive brand separator??????

H-E-L-P me!!!!!!!

PS In the separator at the returng pipe i see not oil - the brown SHIT.
