Pinking

My ST24 has started to pink at around 3k revs, but its ok after this. Any ideas?

Fuel consumption is very good, i get around 28mpg on average and thats mostly town driving

dont know what fuel your running but if you are running crap fuel then try running some shell v power i swear by it. sounds like an octane rating problem.
