Default St170 imrc problems/questions/Help-Pls

Hello
Just joined forum in search of help for fault with imrc.

I have read a lot of posts about the common problems and have changed transistor,Repaired the loose spring,Checked solder joints.

The dsi clip is all there and it all works as it supposed too,Well i thought anyway!

So i first had code for it few years ago and looked for info and found video/posts about spring that goes loose inside imrc box and have epoxy resin that in place,Then i changed transistor for similar 1 and seemed to fix it for a while.

But its back and worst than ever, yesterday i brought it inside and took it apart again to check everything.

Spring still all good, things looked good. but closer inspection i seen that the main black plug that is soldered to pcb, the solder on 3 of the pins out of the six solder joints for it.I could wiggle plug and see the pins move inside of solder joint. So i Thought Great thats it(the problem).Re-soldered the joints and cleaned pcb with electrical switch cleaner.

And thought that was definite the reason for problem.Anyway put it back together and re-installed back in car.

first drive this morning all fine, But Dash warning light came back on on way home from work.

I have a ecu scanner,And use forscan.I only have 1 code for ecu p1518 (imrc) stuck open.

i Checked to see inside throttle housing and flaps seem to work, and smoothly.

I have a picture of pcb from internet and marked something i could do with info on ?Anyone pls.

Its some resistor/diode Not sure exactly. But using my multi-meter with continuity test. Touching red lead 1 side and black the other side of part?.i'm getting continuity(Beep).Should this happen?

I'm not great with electronics (Basics),So excuse me if i'm wrong.Trying to eliminate everything.

Can't understand whats wrong.

Any help be much appreciated and sorry for long post,

Thanks in advance

Bump..
Anyone please???
I found out its a carbon composition resistor. But i'm not sure about it having continuity when tested with multi-meter.
All the other resistors/diodes don't have continuity.
Would like to solve/repair this problem without buying another new/used imrc module.
Surely someone as info on it?
Or better a diagram or where i could find 1?
Thanks anyway

Hey chippa. I can't explain the imrc problem you're having but there's a guy on ebay selling refurbished units for Ł150 if that helps

Not sure if this will help, but this guy gives the main reasons for the IMRC failings, and how to fix them.
