Default ST170 steering and suspension skittish

I have recently bought another ST170 and compared to my old one the handling isn't as confidence inspiring.

It seems to change direction on its own a bit over white lines, it doesn't seem to stick to the road as well as my old one and overall it just feels a bit skittish.Almost feels like it is sliding on oil sometimes, like the suspension isn't pushing the front wheels to the ground firmly enough.

It is a low mileage example (only 36k miles) has brand new PZero tyres and generally the front end feels tight and sharp, but the handling just doesn't seem to match up to this.

I will be checking the front shocks, but anything else I should be looking out for?

thanks for any input or advice.

Jim

Bent rear tie bar or tie bar bushes. I had something similar with a mk2 Mondeo.

have seen in the past 12 months vast numbers of 170s with steering rack issues no doubt age related and as mentioned bushes now fail big time on these cars hence numbers now dwindling, I'm breaking a track based st170 at moment with all the usual poly bushes as seems the best way to rid yourself of these issues further down the line re handling and retro fitting fitting biltstein shocks
