Default Anyone fitted coilovers to their FRS/Focus?

Hi there just wondering if anyone has fitted a coilover kit to their focus?

is it hard to do?

I have just recieved my Gaz Goldline coilovers and have just opened them....fronts look perfect but the backs...just need to confirm they are still seperate (i.e shock and spring seperate) as it looks like they are?

also are the rear shocks meant to move as it just looks like a solid tube with a small thread at the end and a nut LOL and they are not budging at all!! the fronts i can push down a touch but the rears....fook me lol

sorry if these are dumb questions but i dont really fancy ripping the focus apart at this time of night lol

cheers

alrite bud. i got my gaz coilovers two weeks ago.
The rear are as u say, still seperate, not actual coilovers, but still hight ajustable. They arnt too hard to fit.
When i went to the front tho i took the standard ones out before noitcing that the bottom of the shock was too small for the hub, so i'd double check if i were u.
When i was replacing the standard shock the hub fell out of place pulling the plunge joint of the dirvers side drive shaft apart and totally f*****g it, so make sure and avoid that.
Apart from that it isnt that hard. if i was sent the rite part i wouldnt of f****d it.
good luck

Probably only dropped it about 30mm at the back, not as much as i was hopeing but still an improvement.
Im still waiting on my fronts tho, im not too happy about that.

ahh ok...do you think you will have any rubbing issues if you go lower? is there plenty of adjustment left on the coilover?

Its almost at its lowest maybe a wee bit left.
IMO it looks like the wheels would be to wide to fit int the archies and would rub on the inner lip of the arch. i mite b wrong tho.

had a right nitemare with mine! Been trying to fit them since thursday!

front shocks are the right ones...but they sent the wrong top plates through so the Focus top mount wouldnt fit on...after a number of phone calls, another set arrived today at about 5pm! They were meant to be here on Friday morning first thing...but it appears there are problems getting things to my house! had a few problems with my address and things not showing up when they should

The rears are a B1tch to fit....shocks were no problem but the springs...fook that! Tried for a few hours but had no joy so went to Torque of the Devil to get the springs in...Kester there done it in 30mins had to wedge the springs out as the bolts were siezed onto the bushes by the looks of things!

Not had the chance to fit the fronts yet which will hopefully be completed tomo but the rears are done and it is sitting nice....want to take it MUCH lower though should look sweet with the fronts on there!..hopefully i will fit the fronts tomo at some point and finish the job that should have been completed last week LOL

will post up pics when im done

Mate, gaz were a nightmare with me too. after i sent the wrong fronts back it took them 4 weeks to send out the right one's.
When i did the back i didnt have spring compressors at the time, which would of made so much easier so to wedge them out i had my big mate Tac bounce on the hub.
With just the back done its hard to notice the difference, IMO. If u think its looking good now your in for a plesant surprise. the front does go a wee bit lower than the back and makes all the difference.
I'll get some pics up for u later.

You got any problems at the back.

no problems with rubbing what so ever but the rims do touch the plastic trim on full lock like yours do...would LOVED To have gone lower but it looks like i will have to take out the bottom platform so might only do it for shows etc

only slight problem i do have is the fact that the ARB link bracket has been welded slightly in the wrong place causing the link to rub against the inner rim when i go over a bump....will sort it out when i get home...

i might raise the rear up a slight bit...but i have 2 Yellow top batteries in there and 3 amps when the pic was taken so it should raise up slightly....

on my way to work today i noticed its a bit soft so will stiffen it up a touch

apart from that...awesome!
