Default MAJOR F***ING PROBLEM

right, duno if anybody looked at my post about my melted motrocraft spark plug,..

well eventually got some NGK 'R's and fitted these while at work,

i started it up let it warm up and i live no more than 10 miles away from work,
anyway, sets off home on the bypasses giving it some stick, felt really good, seemed to be pulling extremly well, then DISASTER!!!!!!
just around corner from my house i come out of a junction into 2nd and it comes on boost......... BANG splutter missfire... looks in mirror, blue/grey smoke,

whips plug out after i pulled in yard turns her over, spiting pure oil straight out of number 3 cylinder (this is same cylinder that melted my plug) havent had time to take head off yet but i'm suspecting melted piston with possible cause from faulty injector?

so am not a happy bunny at the min

does anyone agree it could be injector? as i am not sure tbh escort RST's on MFI are my speciality but not all this new technology in ECU's lol,

alao any1 else ever heard of problems like this on FRS?

oh and its std by the way

Bloody hell mate, you must really kick the arse out of it! Hope you get it sorted, and it doesn't turn out to be too expensive!

Well my first port of call would be fords, as its std.

If you get no joy with the dealer (which you wont) then ring ford CC and play
up merry hell, and I mean hell.

Id threaten them with watchdog etc etc, and it will be the last ford you ever buy.

It wouldnt be the first time ive heard of CC at least paying 50% of the cost of
repairing an engine out of warranty.

You have nothing to loose by trying

Just put the std plugs back in, even if one has melted

My mam had a 91 Escort automatic and the gearbox went after about 30k and 4 years later. She got more than 70 percent from Ford CC. This was in 95 though.

When I had my first FRS it was 15 months old and 8k on it. I complained about the seat bases and was basically told to fuck off. Fair do, I gave the rant about buying Fords for years and how I wouldn't buy one again blah blah. Still I'm back to owning them and still got no joy.

Ach well, it's worth a try though you never know!

Ian Howell of Area-Six/Fiesta Frenzy 01522 877887. You can only fit a liner in the middle two piston housings if it is the extrnal ones you have damaged I think you will need a new block.

You will probably find that Ian is more competively priced than most other engine builders also.

Tell him Keith sent you.

Hi mate sorry to hear about your problems...were u driving flat out by any chance? or did u ever have the car flat out for a long period of time?

with regards to boring the engine...of course it can be done! people are feeding u BS as it is essentially the same as any other Zetec engine there is out there...just with beefed up buts and an oil return!

u can bore it out +1mm even 1.5mm IIRC using bigger pistons...

get Ian Howell to supply u with some CP Racing pistons and Eagle steel rods and your away! 2047cc is generally what is achieved with the rod and piston package and the over bore is ever so slight.

HTH if u have any questions give me a shout...worked with Zetecs LOADS including my own ZT...

i have hear about motorcraft plugs breaking up and go into the engine which causes internal damage to the engine normally piston and block

also have seen this on my m8's supercharged mondy

normally due to the car running lean and heating the plugs up which breaks the tip of the plugs

on all zetecs/rs it seems the number three piston and bore always pop
when headgasket go or other failures like yours

dont know who told that is cant be rebuilt is bs m8
they can be rebuilt but will need to be over bored with over size pistons and upgrade con rods have to go this way as ford dont do pistons only rings the other route is new block or engine from ford

but like the others said speak to ian howell or power engineering or jamie going of jamsport plays with a lot of zetec's
as the rs focus is a black top zetec engine with a turbo attached to it with a few other mods
