keys locked in car
can anyone tell me how i get back into my mk1 focus. i was sanding down the rear wheel arch when the doors locked themselves . rather stupidly i left the keys in on the dashboard. i really need to get back into the car, as i have a baby who is due in under 2 weeks and have another mk1 focus to repair within the family. Please if anyone has a clue on how i can get back into the car without smashing a window it would be a great help, as have no breakdown and cant afford a locksmith and i really do want to avoid smashing any window as all my local breakers are closed for the Christmas new year period.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
if its a beater use a chisel or something similar to lever out the top of the door to give you more access then get in there with a coat hanger

Was with Sticky at National Day when he got locked out of his RS Focus... we tried... in the end called out breakdown... they couldn't get in, ended up smashing a window...

The boot release button wont work if the car is locked.
I have heard that you can back feed the electrical circuits by energising the alternator with a jump wire, then coat hanger or something in and hit the window down button.
Or try getting some of the parcel banding tape stuff, feeding it through the door seal and hook it round the interior door handle.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
well another car battery would do it, you would need to confirm which colour wire is the boot locking wire, you would need to expose some of said wire from its insulation . connect the - terminal of the battory to the car chassis , then the + vire a wire to the correct wire for the boot lock, this would energise the lock circuit allowing access to the boot of the car

As said, the favourite would have to be a bit of wire to press this switch, a soft bit of wood could be used to give a bit of leverage for additional clearance.

You need a wedge or use a door stop and hammer it in gently at the top corner of the door, you should be able to open it plenty enough to get a wire inside or a stick with a hook on the end to unlock the door

finally got in the car last night. managed to hook the keys with a bit of wire and feed them back though the top of the door. now just got to finish sanding back the crappy paint from a previous owner filling in the scratch they tried to fill with paint and failed and failing miserably and repaint it all, not looking forward to repainting a entire panel
