Lo -Spec more like, run by a wa8ker!!!!Crap products, very often down right dangerous!!!Use the search button on the Passionford site here and you will see more people hate this company than like them. With something as important as brakes I'd suggest using a reputable company like Zoo Motorsport,Brom the main man is a member on this site.Regards Micky

You're right, I haven't owned a set of Lo- Spec brakes, and I never will. I would rather buy something half decent.
A good mate of mine had them on his Cosworth and after a few weeks of fitting all the bolts inside started to fall out and he didn't notice until there was one bolt holding the brakes on by a couple of threads. These were fitted by Hi- Spec... Now changed to AP 330's.
I have Hi- Spec rear disc conversion brackets on the back of my car, and they are stamped wrong (left to right) and my caliper bleed nipples sit at a funny angle so they have to be removed to be bled properly. There is no point taking the kit off and turning them round now we know what the problem is because my rear brake kit is being changed for something else.
If you want something reliable I suggest AP Racing and speak to Martin Hadland @ Reyland. I can't fault my AP's

Well on a sliding scale, if APs are £1000, Willwoods will be about £600 and Hi-Spec will be about £0.50.
A mate of mine bought some Hi-Spec front brakes and was ready for driving down there and throwing them through their windows.
I have AP 6600 calipers on my S1 and they have been seriously spanked. No problems at all and the car stops like fook. I am changing them for something different though but not because they don't work, but I need a different shape caliper for one set of wheels I have. They will be replaced by another set of AP calipers.
I have not found the limit of the current set up as fitted to the car because I hold back from braking as long as I feel safe, then stand on them to find I have stopped far too quickly and have to roll up to the roundabout or other such junction.

Daz - Who sorted your AP's? Martoon?
Thanks Mr C - You will soon have the pleasure of fitting another Reyland kit to the car

Like i said above i have them on my car they were fitted by the old owner of the car .seem ok but on a recent rear brake pipe fit the need to rebleed the whole system was in order..but one of the front calipers hi-spec ones the bleed niple was so tight if we did undo it it would of shattered the caliper..they stop the car fine tho .....
but its like anything i was told never to buy a rs turbo as they are shit and blow up ..and very unreliable..
WHO DO U BELEAVE

I think a lot of people in here are slating em because they know someone who had a bad experience with them.
At end of the day no matterwhat manufacturer there are always going to be shoddy examples of the product doesn't mean there all shite.

hi spec are tossers, plain and simple, i have 300mm conversion on the s1 using
s2 calipers, okay, it is a lot better than standard but hi spec in general
are tossers. no fitting guide, bolts they were supplied were wrong lenght,
i had to get more washers and different bolts. so instead of matt black bolts they
supply it now got zinc plated on.
