Rev counter
On my S1 the rev counter doesn't work at all
It's running Cosworth Management on a weber P8 with twin ign amps so it should only read half speed but it doesn't read anything
Now my question is should the green wire fom the cosworth loom to the back of the rev counter be live ? As its not got any power to it at all . And yes I know the gauge is fine as I've tested both the rev counters I have in another car
Thanks in advance

No the green wire to your rev counter shouldn't be live. It basically carries the negative fly back pulses from the primary coils. As you have two coils you'll need to combine those pulses
I'm guessing the green wire in the cossie loom is Clean Tacho Out (CTO). This can probably be read by a Cosworth Rev counter but most of the ERST ones won't read it. Your best bet is to run the diode circuit in the EFi upgrade sticky thread.

If your car is wasted spark, you need to first find out if the P8 has a wasted spark driver, or if the wasted spark has been enabled in the software.
If it has a driver then usually pin 21 of the ecu will output a signal for the rev counter,
if its been done on the software you will have to drive the tacho by another method as it will have no way of driving a tacho.

You cant presume as it can be done in two ways, take the ecu lid off and see if it has a driver, if it does check which pin the grey wire is connected to internally, this will drive the tacho if you connect it directly to the rev counter signal.

Ok taken the lid off but tbh I don't know exactly what I'm looking for . The board it has in it doesn't have a wire from it linked to any of the pins . Should the driver be in this board or elsewhere ?

I haven't read through all this but my s2 running a p8 reads in half revolutions with coil pack waisted spark as ur saying !! ive got a bit of wiring at home that cures it don't no where it goes presume on back of the clocks but has instructions with it iff any use to u ??? send me a pm as I don't look at my revs :O its made to make it read correct
im not going to use it as cant be bothered to unscrew the clocks lol
