If your car is wasted spark, you need to first find out if the P8 has a wasted spark driver, or if the wasted spark has been enabled in the software.

If it has a driver then usually pin 21 of the ecu will output a signal for the rev counter,
if its been done on the software you will have to drive the tacho by another method as it will have no way of driving a tacho.
