Default On Going Headache Intercooler/Radiator

Right guys ive asked a similar question before im hoping for a definitive answer this time.

I have a alloy rad and a full front mount intercooler il get some proper pics when i get home!

I also have two "spal" fans on the front of my intercooler but she seemed to get a bit warm in traffic and couldnt really feel the fans blowing through the radiator.

there is a gap between the rad and the intercooler but its on the slant as well.

I am trying to get my fans between the intercooler are there fans slimmer than my spal ones? if so what ones?

is there a special way ive tried to moving the rad back a bit just to mock it up and i still cant get the intercooler to sit properly do i have to move the wiring that runs along the bottom?

its getting quite annoying now, i do not want a open mouth front bumper either i think they look absolutely pants!

Regards

Lewis

not sure about the fan situation but you could always wire in a fan switch

there on a switch already but you dont feel much air flow through the actual radiator only through the intercooler

hasnt been on the road for a while, but when it was around october/november last year, if you booted it and then slowed down or was sat in traffic it would go up and up and up.. I dread to think what it will be like when its "hot" in england

good question. i have a single fan on the outside of my i/cooler but in traffic it get alarmingly hot. the fan is pants, blows as much as pulls air through. i tried turning the fan blade but its still no good. i put it back as its supposed to be but im currently after a better setup. if the fran is rotating the wrong way (the motor, not the fanblade) how can you reverse the direction? swappin wires on the motor has not worked.

I've got a hrs front mount, standard rad and fan too. Fan cuts in half way on the temp gauge and drops to quarter.......

See how it is once I fit my NMS twin Cossie cooler

Rad, fans then I/C. best way. the loom needs to be pushed backwards so the rad can be fitted as far back as possible, leaving 1cm between turbo hosing and rad for engine movement.

Mount the I/C as far left(your right) as possible so the rad has some direct wind hitting it.

This is my guide for the full airtec set up, you can have a turbo cooler aswell doing all this and have the spots still fitted to the car for a full standard look.

Ive got the same prob, but i think mine is restricting airflow to the rad even when im driving, as if i nail it, it gets warm pretty quickly...
My rad is a far back as it can go, and the IC (radtec) will only mount in one place... The fans are on the IC at the front.
I plan to seal the rad and IC together so air can only go thru...

i think mines a radtec to as im sure i have a radtec radiator as well my plan is to move the wiring loom underneath of behind the raditator then try and get the intercooler flush with the rad and put the fans back on the IC were see how that goes!

mine is from the front as follows fan, intercooler, and rad. was getting warm in slow moving traffic after 2-3 mins but would drop almost as quick out on the open road. regularly see 100c. fitted some good quality heatwrap from the ex flange on the turbo and downpipe to just past the starter motor and havent seen higher than 90c today. 5meteres doesnt go far though, i have some more that ill use so it goes just past the sump then near the petrol tank.
