rst boost problem
it's running standard boost 0.55bar (8psi) but i changed my broken standard actuator to a -31 actuator. thing is in 3th 4th and 5th it overboosts. running 0.6 bar sometimes even goes to 0.7 bar in 5th gear. this guy said its because the amal valve can't work with the -31 if it aint chipped. on my standard actuator it didnt have this problem it ran lower boost 0.5 bar but peaked at 0.52 bar when it wasn't broken yet.
Anyone know what is really causing this?
Thanks

Ecu cuts out when boost goes to 0.7bar??
You must to adjust the actuator rod to get the boost pressure needed.
You need to extend the length of actuator rod to decrease boost pressure , so the actuator will open wastegate early and boost pressure will drop....
A fine tuning on the rod.
Hope this helps.

well there's the problem, i have the rod adjusted that it just goes over the arm of the wastegate, if i make it any longer my wastegate will be open all the time. Ecu is adjusted i think when i first had the actuator on before adjustment it went over 1 bar without cut out just kept going. in 1st and 2nd i constantly have 0.55 bar as it's supposed to be but in 3th 4th and 5th the gears are longer and the higher the rpm the higher the boost. highest it goes is like 0.72 bar. And from what ive heard the amal valve gives 2 fast clicks when unchipped and 2 clicks with delay if chipped. mine gives 2 fast clickes

Sorry just re-read your first post, a -31 actuator will hold a minimum of 10psi (compressor housing) so you will either need to chip it or maybe lose the amal and plumb the actuator direct to the comrpessor housing.
and if i bypass the amal valve , as a temporary solution. will it do any damage? i bought the -31 because it said at the info minimum of 0.55 bar to 2 bar. i was thinking about getting my boost upped to 0.7 - 0.8 bar. and buy a fmic with it. 0.7 - 0.8 bar is still safe right?

Maybe with a bleed valve???.....

yeah i think ill try a bleedvalve. just disconnected the amal valve gave me 0.3 bar.. didnt have any punch in it really. ill just connect everything back and just dont go full throttle.. i always give like 90 percent throttle which still gives me my 0.55 bar
Thanks for the help guys
Thanks for the help guys
As has been said the -31 will run a minimum of around 9/10psi, so adjusting the rod will never give you any less boost than that. I'd recommend a chip and a re-jet of the amal valve and you will be away!
And Yes 0.8bar is fine with the standard cooler, so even more fine with the Front Mount...

ok thanks, and what power would i be looking at with :
-airtec fmic
-kent cvh 31 ( already in the car when i bought it )
-full mongoose
-standard turbo with 0.8 bar?
i hope for a 150-160?
