I think your a little confused mate, it's the turbine wheel that broke up not the compressor wheel so they would of gone out the exhaust not in the engine! lol

If you lift your foot of the gas when you hear it go bang, the vacuum sucks back into the engine.............

Karl cant believe i didn't see this thread earlier!! Shit news buddy, could have been worse i guess... in all honesty im surprised its lasted this long lol

Mate, if his car is sucking exhaust gasses back thorough the exhaust valve he has other problems bar his turbo.

If his compressor wheel broke up (never heard of this happening... heard of the nut falling off lol) then this could have happened.

There is no chance of any bits making their way from the turbo, up the manifold, past the valves and into the chambers mate.

Good news! can't wait to see how well it does, btw your base map is still in full use, just passed emissions at the MOT with flying colours tunerstudio's VE analyse live is also well worth it.

So far i've done 10 miles and the off boost section of my map is pretty good, starting off with your base, adjusting it for my injectors etc then running VE analyse. It really pays off when you've made a small timing change for example. After a good read on the MS forums it seems to do the fine tuning stuff much better the an ooman.

The AVC-R sounds a good controller karlos, esp to hold them boost levels at high rpm's!

Will be interested to see the new turbo/map and what it produces! Good luck with it m8!

No mate I'm not, as the damage was done by overspeeding the turbine as Jimbo said....
I have thought about it but I hate the sound of a dump valve and love the sound of a stalling compressor wheel! lol
There was no in and out play in the shaft only side to side which I'm hoping was caused by running out of balance after losing bits of turbine wheel... If it was caused by not running a DV then that would be a pain... But there's only one way to find out!
