just got my rst on the road after 2 long years of body wor and saving of course and as the turbo starts to come in around 2000 to 2500 it just whistles and gives almost no boost is this the actuator diaphram??as i have looked for air leaks and found non any help would be great as going round in circles now cheers.

 

check if the arm hasnt worked its way off the actuator,clip may be missing

 

arm is in place as just put a new clip on it

 

Sounds like a boost leak to me...?

Check all hoses and jubilee clips etc

check the wastegate penny on the turbo and make sure it isnt stuck open or cracked failing that it could be a weak spring or knackered diaphragm in the wastegate quite common on rs turbo's as people dont set them with any preload and just use a bleed valve to control boost! typical rst bodge lol
