Default 1989 ERST to EFI FRST? Help...

Hi guys, currently running a 1989 ERST, however, in need of a engine rebuild after being advised I have a melted 4th piston.

I have the opportunity of buying a fully rebuilt 1992 Fiesta RS turbo engine to replace my ERST engine. However, will the loom of my current ERST engine work with a 1992 FRST? Or will i need to change the loom? Are the heads the same?

Couldent make much sence of that last bit but you cant bolt a frst inlet onto a mfi head you will need a conversion plate to do this.

The conversion plate is to allow you to fit an EFI inlet manifold to an MFI head. However you don't need a conversion plate cos the FRST block and head will be EFI and not MFI like in the escort.
You would only need the coversion plate if you were fitting the FRST inlet to your Escort's MFI head to do an EFI coversion but not worth it cos you have fooked the engine anyway.
Would be easier to get the FRST loom as well but you will need the OFAB/OFAC setup from the FRST. Have a look on RS Bible which helps explain things.

Thats much better mate. yeah the heads are teh same apart from the frst will run a coil pack and teh erst runs a dizzie no not sure weather you could convert a frst head to run a erst dizze ?

As for the inlet manifold basically you can put a frst inlet on the erst with the converion plate there 60 from jano at oddkiddcreations.co.uk his details are on there as its his forum, the only thing you need to change the the head are the studs because they need to be longer to fit the converions plate but jano will supply these hope that helps mate

oh and i have a feeling you would need to change the loom ....
