spend the weekend getting everything back together under my bonnet.filled with oil and coolant took the plugs out to crank it afew times to get the oil pressure up as the engine hasnt been run yet since the build but it wont crank! all i get is a click from the starter area!sounds like a relay clicking?im worried that i may have the wiring to the altenator crossed with the starter does someone have a wiring diagram so as i can trace/check my wiring??

The starter solenoid will make that noise. Either the starter in not engaging and closing its contacts or your started has no main feed from the battery.

have you actually turned it by hand though since you re-assembled everything as i had similar problem a couple months ago with a fresh engine too

yea iv turnned it over loads!didnt want it to seize!and to spread the oil.carried out compression test and cylinder leak test when it was at work.its all timed up and got good compression!so fingers crossed theres no reason why it shouldnt run!!
worryingly i build engines loads at work!!!and as a side job!!this is my first ford tho!!
