when you said you pushed the flap down was it all the way or was it gradual as the car was being cranked?

Jumping in and changing the metering unit is just silly. Have you got spark? and is it nice and healthy?

would the ''flap'' be inside the housing where the air filter fastens onto? if so, the rac guy was messin with it while i cranked it, as for sparks, yeah, its got good ones. just no fuel getting to them, had a quick look today, and i loosened the banjo nuts where the red lines fasten onto the unit, yet again, when cranked, nowt came thru!!

it would be silly if they werent such shitty units but as he already said in an earlier post fuel from pump to metering head and nothing from metering head to injectors...metering head

The mfi unit was actually a rather cleaver lump,

in an earlier post some one had the exact same symptoms as yours, in the end their fuel level was too low lol

But if you have plenty of juice, the suspect is probably the fuel distribution head (the bit the injector lines attach to).

Checked fuel pump?

fuel pumps good mate, as i said, its coming thru the filter great and goin thru the unit, but, when u slacken the banjo bolts that fasten the red lines to the head off, nowt comes thru them!! sum1 mentioned undoin the 2 torque bolts and removing the head of the unit to check for any blockages??

you could do that if your feeling confident lol, could also be a bad seal etc. or a mech fail. Give it ago you don't have much to loose, but may also be easier to look for a replacement unit.
