no difference between mfi and efi cams mate! They last better than other cams, solid lifters so no problem with valve bounce at high rpm, and that's about it really! If other cams lasted a bit better they'd be nowhere near as popular imo, have a look on their webite for prices, round the 300 mark all in i think. Oh and the biggest disadvantage is that you have to manually adjust the lifters which is a fiddly and time consuming job, not just drop them in like you do with hydraulics

I have used 2 kents before, both on stroker's, the cam was a cvh34. The first cam lasted 1500 miles and that was running in miles on very little load. It just ground itself down, I was told the problem was poor oil circulation but the head was a dogs b's which had just had 900 spent on it at CH Developments so I knew that wasnt the case, plus oil pressure was fine. The blanks that kent and piper (so ive been told) are cheap and are just too soft. With the newmans ( i have the phase4) the quality of metal used is of a much higher grade which is obviously reflected in the price. Setting them up is a proper ball ache and very tedious, they are also slightly more noisy than hyd's. But at least once they are in, they'r in. I think they need resetting/checking every year or 6000 - 10000 or so but again dont take my word for it.

Im doing mine this weekend if I can drag myself away from work, if you need any help feel free to give me a ring as I can send you pics of the cam and followers. Check out my thread in the resto section as ive uploaded some pics of the cam and lifters

Hope this helps

solid lifters dont stop valve bounce bud, they dont allow the hydraulics pumping up, it just eliminates that factor for revving engines,

fitting double valve springs will/should ! eliminate valve bounce

mines never made a noise,if they are they need clearances checked.
powerband on mine was better than the kent and piper equivilant.if you want top end power then u need to sacrifice low down power.that said the no power before 3500krpm ive yet to see, mine was full boost by 3krpm and producing 130@wheels at 3krpm,not exactly no power.think if your not makin power before 3.5krpm then the car needs set up properly

Agree with JamboRST they are not noisey at all unless your clearances are wrong!
The power band is high in the RPM's and they are a very lazy cam much like a Piper 285T2, but if your not chasing power figures a little bit of cam advance will bring it down the rev range, and if you run a big turbo (stage 3, or any T3 with a .48) you'll have both
