Default Thinking of fitting a Turbo Timer

Hi,

Does anone have a turbo timer fitted to their S2 ERST?
Was thinking of putting one on mine so just wondering what other people had fitted (if any)
Have a sigma alarm fitted and would be graet if there was a turbo timer that was compatable.

Thanks for looking

As Puss said. Just make the last few mins of your journey a 'cool down'.

Had one for like 10 years, and probably used it about 5 times for the timer side of things, but it's very nice to have a digital voltmeter.

best timer is you switching off engine when you're good and ready.
yes they're a good idea, in comparisson to just leaping out when you arrive, but a moment leaving engine ticking over whilst you sort your shit out is much better.

The point is that if you don't want to walk away and leave it, which frankly is the best way to do it anyway to be safe, a turbo timer is pretty pointless. I can't leave my car running for ages outside the house anyway, it's annoying to neighbours etc, so I take the last part of the journey to cool the car down and by the time I've put it in the garage and sorted my shit out, I turn it off. Job done.

I for myself prefer to take it very easy the last few hundred yards, letting the car roll into my drive in neutral with the engine just idling.

That way, the turbo will slow and cool down aswell as the coolant. So I can shut it off with coolant temperature at normal or even below.

If I leave my RST idling at a stillstand for only 30 secs the temperature will rise to 3/4 and unless I wait for the fan to kick in, I'd have to shut it off at 100+ °C coolant temp which can't be very healthy.

Have a read. There's lots of other examples if you do a quick search. Good luck with whatever you decide.
