Default boot light query

before we go ripping out all the furnishing out of the car

can peeps tell us which side the loom runs up to the interior roof light?

also i have no light in the boot, which loom do i cut into?
and should i have some sort of switch?

hence the question about the side the loom, if you know what i mean, lol

From what I remember, all the wiring runs down the drivers side. Its only the central locking that runs down the passenger side. I thought they all had a boot light?

I'm with Christian, have you checked if the wiring is tucked away in the rear panel?

It will use the permanent live (red wire) from the loom running down the drivers side of the car, and then you'll need a pin switch to supply the switched earth.

I'd leave the cigarette lighter in if I were you unless it's ghastly looking. Could be handy to run a cool box or something in the summer, always handy to have one.

Mine had the loom tucked in the rear panel but no light so put one in from another car (xr3i). Found the switch for it is in with the lock assembly/CDL in the boot door an will agree that the loom comes down the drivers side of the boot.
Hope this helps

do you mean in the door, with the wiper motor etc?

all i've got running in the boot proper is the rear + no.plate lights, coming from the drivers side.

there are two wires that come off it with a light , where the light should be, but this dosen't some on, i've checked it, and its still good.

It wont be in the boot lid, it'll be in the rear panel somwhere behind the numberplate.

Check that the wire is connected to the pin switch too.
